About Southern Hills Animal Hospital

Clinic Facility

Southern Hills Animal Hospital opened in March of 2015. Our facility is located inside of the Longford Shoppes at Southern Hills on Sunset and Fort Apache in the Southwest area of Las Vegas, Nevada. Southern Hills Animal Hospital is owned and operated by Dr. Sara Blakesley, who has been practicing Veterinary Medicine for 17 years. When you arrive Southern Hills offers two entrances opening to a large lobby and reception area for all of our patients including Dogs, Cats and Pocket Pets. Appointments are seen in two separate examination rooms. Other areas of the hospital include treatment, radiology, surgery, isolation and our pharmacy. We have two separate Boarding accommodations, a kennel for dogs with large runs and cages as well as a feline and exotic ward.

Appointments

Patients are encouraged to make an appointment. While we will accept walk-ins, there may be a longer waits since patients with appointments are seen first. Drop off appointments are available during business hours for your convenience. As a hospital we do take emergency cases that may add a delay in our scheduled appointments. However, we will still take the time with every patient to be sure their needs are met and will not rush appointments to make up time.

Emergency & Urgent Care Policy

If this is an urgent issue and it is outside our normal business hours, please contact VE+CC (Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care) @ 702-262-7070 or you can head directly to their facility at 8650 W Tropicana Ste B-104 Las Vegas, Nevada 89147, which is on the corner of Tropicana and Durango.  If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency and we can be prepared for your pet's arrival. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment please do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. After your pet arrives and our veterinarian has assessed the condition of your pet, a treatment plan and any recommendations will be reviewed with you. Please Never use email or social media to reach us during an emergency.
